Now that you and I have the design done, we want to make sure the parts move as expected and don't interfere with each other.

We may also want to demonstrate to others how great our mechanism works.

SolidWorks has tools to do both basic animation and movement that considers gravity and other forces.

The advantage of doing this in SolidWorks is to find and correct any issues before you commit to manufacturing a prototype.
